那“晚婚”到底是
“marry late”还是“marry later”呢？
1、如何表达\公众结婚”？
marry sb：嫁给某人，娶了某人
She married him one year ago.
get married：结婚We’re getting married next week.
我们下周结婚。
tie the knot：结婚tie是“系”，knot是“结”， tie the knot就像中文中“结为连理”“结为夫妻”。
They tied the knot at a young age.
他们在年纪很小的时候结的婚。
get hitched：结婚hitch是“勾住，套住”，也有直接表示“结婚”的意思。跟tie the knot意思差不多。
Did they get hitched? 他们结婚了吗？
2、晚婚
marry late VS marry later
marry later: 晚婚marry late: 结婚晚
为什么“晚婚”是marry later而不是marry late呢？
Marry later强调的是个人的选择，选择晚一点。而marry late则带有他人评价色彩，结婚太晚了。
比如父母可能对上了年纪还没结婚的孩子说：
Don’t marry late. 不要太晚才结婚。
但孩子可能会说：
I enjoy being single and I prefer marry later. 我很享受单身，我甘心晚婚。
其余，“晚婚”也可以这样说：
put off marriage: 推迟结婚I’ll put it off until I’m mature enough.
我会到我足够成熟了另娶亲。
I don’t even have money to pay the rent. I’ll put my marriage off.
.我连付房租的钱都没有。我会晚点结婚。
3、单身
表达“单身”有好几种说法：
Sb is single:某某是单身。Sb is unattached. 某某是单身。Sb is unmarried. 某某未婚。Sb is not with anyone. 某某是单身。The guy looks really cute. 那男的看起来好帅。
He’s Mike. He’s not with anyone. 他是麦克。 还是单身哦。
问别人有没有工具可以说：
Are you with anyone?你有工具吗？
