操吴戈兮被犀甲，
车错毂兮短兵接。
旌蔽日兮敌若云，
矢交坠兮士争先。
凌余阵兮躐余行，
左骖殪兮右刃伤。
霾两轮兮絷四马，
援玉枹兮击鸣鼓。
天时怼兮威灵怒，
严杀尽兮弃原野。
出不入兮往不反，
平原忽兮路超远。
带长剑兮挟秦弓，
首虽离兮心不惩。
诚既勇兮又以武，
终刚强兮不可凌。
身既去世兮神以灵，
魂魄毅兮为鬼雄。

汉语口语译文：
手拿长戈矛身上披着犀牛甲，
与仇敌短兵相接战车相交错，
仇敌的战旗蔽天兵士多如云，
箭矢互射坠如雨士卒齐争先。
仇敌杀来我们的阵线已溃乱，
战车左马已去世右马也被刀伤。
两只车轮陷泥中四马全拉翻，
擂得战鼓响依然鼓舞我士气。
直杀得天昏地暗神灵也年夜怒，
一兵一卒全战去世尸体抛原野。
年青的战士出去就不再回来，
沙场渺渺离家的道路又迢遥。
战去世者佩剑持弓威风仍不减，
虽身首异处同仇敌忾永不变。
既对国家忠实又有勇武精神，
刚强的意志任谁也不能凌辱。
虽已身死英武的精神永不灭，
战士的灵魂作鬼也成为英雄。

In the rhino armor, I wave a spear;
On chariot I fight agaist the foes near.
The foes like clouds with flags shading the sun;
Arrows fall like rain an' men try to forth run.
The foes fight to our front and they're in mess;
The left steed's killed and right steed's hurt, two less .
Two wheels stuck in the mud and four steeds fall;
The beating of drums keeps our spirits tall.
Fighting so dark all round makes the gods rage;
Each soldier's killed, each corpse's afield in gage.
Young men go out and won't return for aye;
The plain is vast and the road's far away.
With the sword and bow the dead looks strong still,
With head an' trunk apart, th' dead unchange his will.
The soldiers were brave and loyal with might,
Such a great power the foes dare not slight.
Though they're dead, their spirits are never gone;
With their souls, the ghosts become heroes yon.
