Speaking of Hefei, a series of impression of it come into my mind: the thronged commercial street on Changjiang Road, Memorial Temple of Bao Zheng with black gate, the unfettered place of the city center--Xiaoyaojin Park, “time-honored” famous Daoxiang Hotel with singing birds and fragrant flowers......
然而，步入新世纪，合肥大变样。
However, after entering into the new century, tremendous changes have occurred in Hefei.
昔日，我从未听说合肥有个天鹅湖。我入住湖畔洋溢当代化气息的天鹅湖大酒店，在26楼的不雅观光餐厅俯瞰清波荡漾的天鹅湖，精神为之一爽。这个面积逾千亩的天鹅湖，乃是不久前建成的人工湖。这里原来只是一条十五里河，把河扩大，变成泱泱大湖。有水则灵，新楼环湖而立，成为合肥的政务文化新区。高达33层的双子星楼，是合肥市的政务大楼，成为天鹅湖畔的地标性建筑。一座犹如三层波浪、一浪高过一浪的大型建筑，乃是新建的合肥大剧院。天鹅湖中心的巨型喷泉，有着亚洲第一高喷泉的美誉。入夜，天鹅湖畔一丛丛树木披着繁星般的小彩灯，而用灯光装饰的高楼大厦则犹如穿上闪闪发光的晚礼服，成为一道五彩缤纷的风景线。
In the past, I've never heard of “Swan Lake” in Hefei. I check in the Swan Lake Hotel with modern element, overlooking the rippling Swan Lake in the sightseeing restaurant on the 26th floor, which made me refreshing. Swan Lake, with an area of more than one thousand acres, is an artificial lake built not long ago. It was originally a river with 15 miles and then was expanded into a great lake. Thanks to the water, new buildings are built around it and become the new political and cultural center of Hefei. The Twin Tower, with 33 floors, is the government building in Hefei and landmark beside Swan Lake. A large building, like waves of three layers, one higher than the other, is the new grand theatre of Hefei. The giant fountain in the heart of Swan Lake is known as the highest fountain in Asia. In the night, the trees around the lake are covered with star-like small lights, and the tall buildings decorated with lights resemble having put on the shining evening dresses—all these become a colorful landscape.
天鹅湖只是合肥巨变的缩影。湖在变，山也在变。平地兀然拔起的大蜀山，是古火山，是合肥市区独一无二的山。前无岗后无阜的大蜀山，这“蜀”便是“独”之意。然而大蜀山这制高点曾经是征战合肥的兵家必争之地，战火使大蜀山荒漠无人烟。在新世纪的阳光下，大蜀山绿树蓊郁，花木茂密，“春来鸟语花香，夏日绿荫蔽日，秋到枫叶如火，冬有蜀山雪霁”。这座“城中山”是玻璃幕墙大楼林立、高速公路万车奔驰的合肥城里难得的安谧之所。
“Swan Lake” is the epitome of the upheaval of Hefei. The Lake is changing, so is the mountain. Dashushan, uprooted from the ground all of a sudden, is an ancient volcano and the only mountain in downtown Hefei. Without any mound around Dashushan, “Shu” means “only”. However, the commanding height of Dashushan was once of political and military importance for fighting in Hefei, but the wars made it desolate. In the new century, with impenetrable trees and flowers, Dashushan is portrayed as “With singing birds and fragrant flowers in spring, green shades in summer, fire-like maple leaves in autumn and white snow in winter in Dashushan”. The “mountain within the city” is a serene and rare place in the city of Hefei with glass curtain, high buildings as well as highways and cars.
依托大蜀山的浓荫，在西南山脚下，一座新型的文化陵园在2002年出身，成为21世纪合肥人的“人生后花园”。
Relying on the shade of Dashushan, a new type of culture cemetery was born in 2002 in the southwest foot of the mountain, which proves to be the “back garden of life” for people of Hefei in 21st century.
大蜀山文化陵园在“陵园”之前加上“文化”二字，表示了建园的新思维、新理念，表示了与旧式陵园的根本差异。经济是根本，文化是灵魂。尤其是在经济迅速发展确当下中国，文化更是中华民族的灵魂，中华文明的灵魂。上海福寿园是我非常熟习的陵园，从一开始建园就强调文化特色，成绩斐然，而作为上海福寿园集团分公司的大蜀山文化陵园，同样以这样的新不雅观念起跑。安徽有着深厚的历史文化秘闻，徽学、徽商、徽剧、徽墨、宣纸享誉中华。“建文化陵园，创陵园文化”，大蜀山文化陵园成了一座“徽派”人文公园。
The adding of “culture” in front of “cemetery” of Dashushan Culture Cemetery reflected the new thinking and new concept of garden construction and the fundamental difference between the new and the old cemetery. Economy is the foundation, while culture is the soul. Especially in contemporary China with rapid economic development, culture is the soul of the Chinese nation as well as Chinese civilization. Shanghai Fushouyuan, which I am very familiar with, emphasizes the cultural features at the very beginning and has achieved great success. As part of Shanghai Fushouyuan, Dashushan Culture Cemetery starts with the same new concept. Anhui is a province with profound historical culture, whose school of Hui, merchants of Hui, opera of Hui, ink of Hui and China paper are renowned in China. “Building culture cemetery and creating cemetery culture”, Dashushan Culture Cemetery turns out to be humanistic park of “school of Hui”.
这里高度重视安徽革命义士、文化精英，把他们的陵墓置于“头版头条”的地位，把墓碑精心打造成具有文化代价的艺术品；
Special attention are paid to the revolutionary martyrs and cultural elites in Anhui province, with their tombs on the “headlines”, it strives to build the tombstones into works of art with great culture value.
这里形象展现园内先辈的动听业绩，在人文纪念馆以多种形式再现逝者风范，把赤色接力棒交到下一代手中；
The touchable deeds of our ancestors are vividly exhibited in the gardens: humanities memorial garden recreates the demeanors of the deceased in a variety of forms, handing the red baton to the next generation;
这里的“警魂墙”，让人们永记为国泰民安而捐躯的公安英烈；
The “police soul wall” here makes people remember the heroic martyrs of public security died for the country’s prosperity and people’s security forever;
这里的纪念碑林，思念为祖国医学奇迹无私奉献的尸首捐献者；
The monuments commemorate the selfless body donors for the cause of national medicine;
尤其值得提到的是，大蜀山文化陵园倡导新式殡葬文化，陆续推出花坛葬、草坪葬、森林葬、江葬等“节地葬”，推出以低碳、文明的鲜花为主的“无烟祭扫”……
