诗中“Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.”，这句诗在科幻电影《星际穿越》中也被反复吟诵。它表达的是，只要人活着，或早或晚，无法避免地都会面对去世亡，但无论是谁，无一不是心存敬畏。而面对去世亡的态度最能反响出一个人的聪慧。古今中外的很多智者都提出这样的训诫：把活着的日子过得精彩，是人面对去世亡最好的办法。
